Crooked Creek Cleanup - June 2007
Adults and youth from several local organizations celebrated National River Cleanup Week (June 2-10, 2007) by "Joining Hands" to clean-up a segment of our beloved Crooked Creek. Described as "the blue-ribbon smallmouth stream of the state," Crooked Creek passes through typical Ozark landscapes, including several small communities, on its way east to the White River. Hicks Creek Cleanup - June 2007
Outfitted in waders and trash bags, children made their way through Hick Creek picking up garbage in the water and along the banks. This was the first time members from the Mountain Home Park and Recreation L.C. Sammons Youth Center cleaned the creek in Cooper Park, which was littered with items like plastic bags, flip-flops and a loaf of bread. Click here for the full story and photos.
