2/5/08 Baxter Counter Approves Grading Ordinance.
The Baxter County Quorum Court approved an ordinance implementing minimum standards to control ground alteration, grading, and erosion control for development projects.

"Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers, Inc." is an Arkansas non-profit organization 501(c)(3) devoted to creating an on-going dialogue where individuals, groups, and government agencies can work together to restore, enhance and conserve these beautiful rivers.

2/24/08 Overlook Estates / Homeport Land Company Suit Settled.
"The parties involved in a lengthy storm water enforcement lawsuit involving several real estate developments in the Mountain Home area have reached a settlement on the penalty for water quality violations in the case, the last remaining aspect of the suit."

Gene Dunaway, President of Friends, had this comment: "I think this is a good settlement. In addition to getting money now without further litigation, it appears Mr. Doyle is personally bound by the decision, not just Homeport. The case itself would have been difficult to prove because you cannot distinguish sediment from other sites from sediment from his sites or prove exactly how much damage was done."
